Head Judge - Nicole Gomes
Chef Nicole Gomes boasts more than a few culinary titles: from Top Chef Canada All Stars Champion, to Finalist on Iron Chef Gauntlet, to the prized winning title of “Flay Slayer” on Beat Bobby Flay. Most recently, you can watch her on season 20 of Top Chef World All Stars. Nicole’s 28 years of culinary experience has taken her all around the globe from Vancouver to Paris and even to a naval base in Sydney. She credits her mom for her love of food and travel. With her Chinese and Portuguese heritage, it came as no surprise that she chose a career in the culinary world. For it is in those cultures, that food is not only about sustenance, it is connectedness; it is the focus of family. She is co-founder (Chief Chicken Officer) of Cluck n Cleaver in Calgary; where alongside her sister and co-founder Francine, they aim to bring tasty all natural made from scratch fried chicken & rotisserie chicken to the community, and at the same time, cultivate an inclusive and positive environment for their employees.

Fraser Abbott
Fraser Abbott leads the Champions Program at Tourism Calgary working with local thought leaders to collaborate with them to host major international conferences in our city.
Prior to joining Tourism Calgary, Fraser has enjoyed a lengthy hospitality career spanning over thirty years working for brands like the Hotel Arts Group, Village Brewery, the Calgary Hotel Association, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, as well as former hotel brands like Delta Hotels and Resorts and Canadian Pacific Hotels.
Fraser has volunteered for many organizations including the Calgary Stampede, Mount Royal University Foundation, Umoja Community Mosaic, Soccer without Boundaries, and Alberta Culinary Tourism Alliance, among others.

Michael Allemeier
Chef Allemeier is one of five Certified Master Chefs in Canada. He is a culinary educator, food lover and currently instructs at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Carmen Cheng
Carmen Cheng is a food writer who shares her food adventures on various forms of media and publications including Avenue Magazine, CBC, Eat North, and is the personality behind foodkarmablog on social media. She also participates on the panels for Air Canada Enroute’s Best New Restaurants in Canada and Canada's 50 Best Bars. Outside of food writing, Carmen works as Talent and Inclusion leader in Calgary.

Chef Romina Romo
Since 2022, Chef Romina Romo Campuzano has been sharing her expertise as a Chef Instructor at SAIT, mentoring and inspiring students on their culinary journeys. Passionate about exposing her students to diverse cuisines and cultures, she brings a global perspective to her teaching. In addition to her role at SAIT, she serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Calgary Association of Chefs and Cooks, actively contributing to the local culinary community. Previously, she worked alongside world-renowned chefs Enrique Olvera and Thomas Buckley and led Mexican and Indian restaurants in Cyprus, Mexico, and Vancouver. She enjoys spending time outdoors, yoga, and traveling.
