This two-day competition is open to students in grades 9–12 and will take place at the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Campus—Alberta’s only veterinary school—on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6.

This opportunity will allow youth to develop and apply practical skills in the field of animal science. It is a can’t-miss event for aspiring animal science professionals and youth agricultural producers looking to grow their skills and understanding, while networking and gaining firsthand experience at the only veterinary school in the province.

Participants will have the opportunity to earn cash and prizes for taking part in this experience and testing their abilities in a competitive yet encouraging environment.

This event is a collaboration between the Calgary Stampede and the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Registration for this year's Youth Veterinary Science Challenge will open April 1, 2026! Check back soon for more information.
