International Agriculture & Agri-Food Committee:

Made up of volunteers representing the Southern Alberta community, the International Agriculture & Agri-Food Committee (IAC) operates within the framework of the Calgary Stampede. The IAC serves as a connector between the Stampede, Southern Alberta agriculture and international agriculture & agri-food guests before and during the Stampede. With a reputation for success and positive leadership, the committee strives to be a meaningful contributor to the success of the Stampede, the Agriculture department and the Southern Alberta agriculture & agri-food industry.


Our mission is to bring members from the world’s agricultural and agri-food community together to share ideas, to facilitate business opportunities and to foster friendship and cultural understanding. 

Where in the World do you Farm Campaign:

Our “Where in the World do you Farm?” campaign is meant to invite international guests with an interest in agriculture & agri-food to our IAC booth in the Agrium Western Event Centre to meet with us. And also to invite Southern Alberta agricultural and agri-food exhibitors and participants with an interest in doing business internationally. 

Our booth is open daily July 7 to 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Reflections Campaign:

2017 marks Canada's 150th birthday! To celebrate this occasion IAC has created the IAC Canada 150 Reflections Projecct. We are asking industry leaders who offer a wealth of experience and insights across a broad range of industries to share their thoughts and perspectives on what has been the biggest advancement in the agriculture/agri-food industry. You can find some of these reflections in the 2017 Profile magazine. Agri-business Seminar:

On Tuesday, July 11, 2017 the International Agriculture and Agri-food Committee will be hosting a Canada-Mexico trade mission.  This event is designed to increase the knowledge and understanding of existing agricultural trade between the two countries and explore possibilities for expanded business opportunities.  The mission will feature the Mexican Ambassador to Canada and the Mexican Minister of Agriculture. Canadian delegates attending will be federal and provincial government officials as well as representatives of the agricultural commodity groups.  The event will be held in the BMO Centre and attendance will be by invitation.
