Blacksmith Showcase and Classic

The Calgary Stampede is excited to showcase its blacksmithing programming for the full 10 days of the Stampede.  There will be something educational all 10 days for our guests to come down and experience what blacksmithing is all about. 

For the last weekend of the Calgary Stampede, we will host the Calgary Stampede Blacksmith Classic, a 3 day invitational competition. This high impact, fast pasted competition is sure to bring some new excitement to the program. Located in both Country Trail and the Northern Lights Arena, this competition is showcasing the best in both Canada, United States, and Europe.

The Calgary Stampede Blacksmith Classic is proud to announce the Carriage House Inn, 9030 Macleod Trail South, Calgary, AB as their Host Hotel.

To book rooms at the Carriage House Inn, please call their reservation line (800) 661-9566, or email reserv@carriagehouse.net.  Please use the Calgary Stampede Blacksmith Classic room block as your reference.  NOTE that the deadline to book rooms is June 12, 2017.  Please ensure that you book early.  After June 12, 2017, the rooms held in the block will be released back to hotel inventory. Reservation requests received after the cut-off date will be quoted the rate of the day & the room types available.

Judges

The Calgary Stampede Classic is excited to welcome two accomplished and renowned blacksmiths to judge this year's competition.

General

An official accreditation pass will be needed by all exhibitors for the 2017 Stampede and all future Stampedes. In addition to granting access to Stampede Park, the photo accreditation will indicate which restricted areas each person can enter based on individual requirements. Accreditation is year specific, and a new pass will be issued each year. The Agriculture Accreditation pass gives you access to the Grandstand Rush areas for the Rodeo, Chuckwagons, and Evening Show.  One (1) exhibitor badge is included in each competitors entry. Additional passes can be purchased for a fee of $35.00 (G.S.T. included) each. These badges are a privilege of the exhibitors, and will be limited. Exhibitors are responsible for lost or forgotten badges.
