North American Sheep Shearing Challenge 2012

North American Sheep Shearing Challenge

An even wilder and woollier affair is in the offering at this year’s Stampede.
The North American Sheep Shearing Challenge continues its third year of its new format, Friday July 6 & Saturday July 7, in the Agriculture Building, as shearers from around the world face off two at a time, trying to beat each other and the clock.
It’s a new wrinkle on an already very exciting spectacle, which sees the globe’s best professional sheep shearers trimming four sheep in less than six minutes.
The competition is intense, and these ba-a-a-a-a-rbers display exceptional skills.
Returning this year is the intermediate class, providing local semi-pro shearers an opportunity to sharpen their skills.
