Canadian Team Cattle Penning National Finals
Team Penning is a fast paced, exciting sport where a team of 3 riders are given a time limit to separate specific numbered cattle from a herd at the top end of the arena, and drive them into a pen set at the opposite end. The cattle are numbered 0-9, three of each number making a herd of 30 cattle. Each team will be given a specific number, then it is their job to sort out their 3 cattle and pen them. The fastest time wins. The catch is, you cannot have more than 1 wrong numbered cow across the foul line in the center of the arena. There are also rules of conduct governing fair play and protection of the cattle. Teamwork, strategy and skill are of the essence. Cattle can be unpredictable and the clock is ticking.
